WEYLANDTS EXTENDS AROMA RANGE

WEYLANDTS EXTENDS AROMA RANGE

Friday 30th July

Following the successful launch of the signature Weylandts Aroma products in March, Weylandts has recently extended its home fragrance range with two new varients, Tibet and Africa. Weylandts Aroma is a new addition to the range of lifestyle products which has been introduced in recent months to the Weylandts offering. These include wine, olive oil and lemon juice produced on CEO Chris Weylandt’s Franschhoek farm, Maison.

“The first Weylandts aroma fragrance sold extremely well and the positive consumer response encouraged us to expand the range,” says CEO Chris Weylandt. “Sensory experiences like fragrance can transport one to another place and time. These new fragrances are strongly influenced by my travels and experiences in Africa and Asia.”

The new Weylandts Aroma blends echo the spirit of their origin, explains Weylandt. “The people of Tibet exude gratitude and warmth, while Africa is a mother to us all, nurturing and full of life. These are characteristics that we like to embody in our home – and we wanted the fragrances to do the same.” The Weylandts Aroma Africa is inspired by the spirit of Taza, a small ancient city in Morocco. The streets of Taza are decorated to attract and welcome foreigners. The fragrance is just as welcoming, with a sweet cinnamon top note that is blended with warming aniseed, comforting tarragon root and bay leaf, creating a sensory experience that stimulates warmth and calmness in the body and mind.

The Weylandts Aroma Tibet is inspired by the beautiful village of Kurseong, also named the place of white orchids. The blend echos the spirituality and intimacy for which the people of Kurseong are renowned. The Tibet aroma is a complex blend that comprises tranquil vertivert, smoky cedarwood, euphoric grapefruit, inviting gingerbread and leather for a deep yet harmonious masculine fusion.

“Fragrance forms a vital part of the sensory experience we create in our stores, and adds to the enjoyment of viewing our products,” says Weylandt. “We formulated and introduced the Weylandts signature aroma into our showrooms in 2008, and since then our customers have frequently commented on how much they love the fragrance and the relaxing – even therapeutic – ambience of the stores. Our staff has also found that the aroma enhances the working environment.”

The new Weylandts Aroma Africa and Tibet variants are available in a home fragrance spray (200ml) which retails for R160 and burner oil (10ml) which retails for R120.

Renowned for its eclectic range of original furniture designs and unique home accessories sourced from all corners of the globe, the Weylandts business boasts six showrooms around the country. Each of these beautifully merchandised destination stores is designed to provide a truly memorable shopping experience.
